The 8th Annual Green Youth Indaba

The 8th Annual Green Youth Indaba in KwaZulu-Natal gathered over a thousand young environmental leaders and experts to advance sustainable solutions. The event, themed Promoting Youth Participation & Sustainable Skills for a Just Transition, went beyond dialogue, initiating impactful actions such as the Green Beach Clean-Up Campaign. It also extended its reach with Green Career Guidance School Visits, providing valuable insights and motivation for learners.

The Green Innovators Pre-pitch Workshop and Roadshows prepared over 300 young individuals across key provinces for the Green Innovators Pitch Competition. A highlight of the event was the Dube Trade Port Tour, offering a firsthand look at opportunities for young people in South Africa’s economic landscape.

Culminating on June 29, 2023, the Indaba featured notable speakers and engaging sessions. Keynote addresses from luminaries like Minister Barbara Creecy set the tone, while the Green Youth Innovators Panel spotlighted youth-driven innovations in agriculture, emphasising the crucial role of young farmers in sustainability.
